Question: What’s the best way to use the apostrophe?
Answer: Randomly. At least according to one store on my local high street.
This is one of my favourite topics. So I thought I’d share this link with you all:
Love it! Particularly like this one http://bit.ly/d7Pdij
What amazes me is how many of these are printed professionally. My grandfather was a printer and he saw part of his role to assist his customers. I don’t believe he would ever have printed something so wrong.
I can’t see it getting any better any time soo’n!
Thank you, Tony. And hats off to John Richards at the Apostrophe Protection Society:
This is cute! Thanks for sharing, made me laugh.
I bet this comment really wind’s you up then, Don!
Sorry, couldn’t resist.
I’m a punctuation and grammar nazi, but this made me chuckle 😉
Rampant apostrophes is also one of my pet peeve’s (!).
There’s an excellent little guide for businesses available from Emphasis at http://www.writing-skills.com that’s worth a subtle email or two to any offenders.
Possibly the top blog that I read this year
